Today, there are more than 770 million illiterate people in the world, over 300 million children who are not enrolled in school, and hundreds of millions more lack access to books and libraries. Ninety-eight percent of these children live in developing countries, where extreme poverty prevents them from gaining an education.
You will see just how much joy and hope and lasting change your scholarship gift will bring to a child or family living in poverty.

Noon Meal subsidy for underprivileged children
Many of the children come from families where both parents are daily wagers, who need to leave for work early. Usually, they cook just once a day and this is the dinner, a portion of which is kept aside for the children as breakfast and lunch as well.
In the absence of any vegetables, fruit or proteins, the nutritional content of their food is also very poor. This severely impedes the physical and mental growth of the children. By providing at least one tasty and nutritious meal to these kids, two issues are addressed: health of the children and an incentive for parents to send their child to school.
